Carpet Resoiling

Carpet resoiling and Rapid re-soiling is when a recently cleaned carpet becomes dirty again very quickly.

We have all heard the old wife’s tale that if you clean your carpets, they’ll get dirtier quicker.

There is some truth to this as in the past most technicians added the cleaning detergent to the rinse water in their machine.

This would leave behind sticky residue form the detergency left behind, and this sticky substance would work like a “dirt magnet “and grab everything it could, causing the carpet to become re-soiled very quickly.

The industry standard now is to apply your cleaning solution through a sprayer and NOT in your machine as a rinse agent.

Carpet resoiling

Also another reason for rapid re-soiling is when carpets are old and worn.

Carpets can naturally re-soil quicker as there is less pile to hold the soiling, so will become more visible quickly than when the carpet was new.

But let’s look at the main culprit for carpet resoiling

Detergent residue. So, do our detergents used to clean carpets cause re-soiling?

Early generations of carpet cleaning detergents did leave sticky residuals and did promote re-soiling.

We use only the most appropriate carpet cleaning products in Eastbourne when we clean carpets.

Particularly as they were added to the carpet cleaners machines tank. Or if applied to the carpet via a sprayer, were just rinsed with plain water.

This would not remove all the detergency residual from the fibres.

However, the technology in the products we now have access to have come a long way over the last 20 years or so.

Unfortunately, there are still many untrained or unskilled “professionals” who incorrectly clean carpets leaving detergent residual behind.

And your carpets to re-soil quickly.

This is not just carpets. Upholstery cleaning and sofa cleaning has the same residue isses.

Here at FabricMaster we use modern cleaning chemistry.

And it’s formulated much differently than the old products from yesteryear.

We use a variety of modern rinses that suit various carpet types, and these rinses residues are polymer based.

And when dry will not attract carpet resoiling.

They also leave an invisible coating on your fibres which helps dust release more easily.

So in effect, your vacuuming will be more efficient post cleaning.

Our modern carpet cleaning process in Eastbourne including our cleaning solutions will leave your carpets cleaner for much longer. Eliminating the spectre of rapid re-soiling.
