My light grey living room carpet was looking very grubby - especially the bit leading to the kitchen! I found Fabric Master with a google search - and honestly I can't believe the results. Far beyond my expectations my carpets loo...

Upholstery

Upholstery cleaning is by its very nature a more exact science than carpet cleaning. Not only are the fabrics more delicate; more subject to damage or destruction by inappropriate methods, but there are further considerations which do not apply in carpet cleaning.

In the case of soft furnishings and fabrics there is the human body contact which can lead to the contamination of the fabric by perspiration, greasy deposits from hair and hand cosmetics, body warmth and compression. There are also hidden dangers associated with what lies beneath the fabric if not cleaned correctly.

In modern furniture foam padding can be dissolved if the incorrect chemicals are used; in older furniture, the use of shoddy multi coloured wool threads as padding or hessian covering ancient horsehair raises the spectre of cellulosic browning or wicking of unsuspected stains to the surface if too much water is used.

Like with our carpet cleaning, only our safe cleaning solutions are used when cleaning fabrics and soft furnishings.
We also use the latest and most advanced hand tool on the market today! We use the Sapphire Pro Upholstery Tool to maximise cleaning and minimise wetting. Unlike the old metal hand tools some other cleaning companies still use, the Sapphire Pro gives amazingly fast drying times with virtually no risk of over wetting. Like our carpet cleaning a full initial survey is carried out, and if you wish to proceed all your furnishings are vacuumed and pre tested for colour fastness before any cleaning is carried out.

7 Point Cleaning - Upholstery

No 1 - How the carpets are cleaned. Here is an example of how your carpets will be cleaned. This is how all carpet cleaning companies ‘should’ be cleaning your carpets. Each client receives our 7-Point cleaning programme when having their carpets cleaned. This method is approved by the majority of major carpet manufacturers.

No 2 - Pre vacuum. The first important stage of all cleaning processes is to remove as much dry soiling as possible before wetting the upholstered item. All areas of the items to be cleaned are pre-vacuumed thoroughly.

No 3 - The upholstery will then be pre-sprayed with one of our eco-friendly cleaning solutions.

No 4 - Agitation is a very important part of the cleaning process as it works the eco-friendly cleaning solution into the fabric allowing it to work on the soiling and preparing the upholstery for hot water extraction. We use either our nylon brush or upholstery shampoo sponge depending on which type of solution and process we use.

No 5 - The solution and soiling is then lifted by our hot water extraction machine using the latest in upholstery cleaning tools, the Sapphire Pro. These are designed to clean the fabric without spraying water deep into the cushion, meaning that over wetting is eliminated and the drying time is a lot faster. A natural eco-rinse solution is also used during this process to help leave your upholstery free from cleaning solution and a pH neutral finish which is safe for all the family.
